Confirming repair quality, accuracy ensures safety for drivers

Our industry at times suffers from a poor consumer image. We don’t like to admit it and everyone thinks their work is good. But the reality is we have some shops doing a less-than-quality repair.

While some shops love post-repair inspections, other shops dread them. They can be done in-house for quality control, throughout the repair process, or after the vehicle is back in the owner’s hand, often by a third party. Read more.

Yes!!! I've been asking for this for years. It has way more application value that just inventory control and efficiency. Think of what it would do for manufacturer rebates and spiffs for techs. Parts could have a QR code that the tech can scan on his DVI based tablet and gather important installation info or instructions/warnings, etc.

Performing a diagnostic scan before repair work begins can save unnecessary delays

When a complete diagnostic scan is conducted on a vehicle after a collision, not only can it accurately determine which repairs need to made, but it also can reduce the completion time the vehicle has to remain in the repair shop. The quicker the vehicle can be accurately diagnosed and repaired, the quicker the vehicle can be returned to the owner in pre-collision condition.
